We hear ALL the time that the New Year brings a NEW YOU right? But that's not really the truth. The New Year isn't going to bring ANYTHING to us, we have to MAKE 2016 OUR year by changing our habits and creating new ones.
That begins with new GOALS. Attainable ones. Not unrealistic ones that you'll be disappointed you didn't achieve.
We also think many times that if we SET a goal, and don't reach it, then we have failed...How many of you just DON'T create goals at all because at the end of the day, it's too painful when we disappoint ourselves for not getting there? Don't do that to yourself. Don't downplay what you are capable of, or put a barrier over yourself because of those fears.
This year is going to bring LOTS of change for us as a family, and that includes adding a new addition. June 25th is the expected arrival of our second baby girl, and we are THRILLED. This has been such a huge blessing in our lives and I'm just so happy that Westley got her wish of a baby sister. She's already got so much love in her heart for this little babe and seeing her as a big sister creates an even deeper love than I ever knew I had.
With that being said, I'm so thankful that I began this pregnancy in my BEST SHAPE POSSIBLE. The first pregnancy, I was a starting weight of 116, not a lot for many, but on a 5'2" frame, it was a lot for someone with no muscle and not working out. I was feeding my body the WRONG foods and was lazy. Because of the foods I was eating, I was unable to have the energy and drive to do anything other than lay on the couch and veg during my pregnancy. I think I counted TWO times that I worked out during that pregnancy. SAD. I'm sure my labor would've been much different had I made an effort. But I was uneducated and didn't see the value in providing myself, and in turn, my CHILD, the proper nutrition throughout pregnancy.
This pregnancy was much different. We found out we were expecting the day I returned from shooting The Master's Hammer and Chisel infomercial. Short clip found here: {infomercial coming soon!}
Hammer and Chisel Preview - Watch for me :)
I was 103 lbs and had more muscle than I had ever had in my entire 31 years. The first trimester was tough. Same nauseas, and all day sickness, as well as being so tired, and chasing the toddler around was serious work! I didn't workout much until week 13. That being said, I tried to make better food choices this time around, even when I craved ALL the carbs. I did allow myself some cravings, {HELLO, salt and vinegar EVERYTHING} but I was much better with self control. My doctor approved Shakeology as my prenatal with the added folate. This made me SO excited because I knew I wanted to continue to feed my body superfoods throughout. I've gained 9 lbs so far this pregnancy and I'm about 16 weeks along.
I plan to continue to be an active challenge in my support groups on facebook, and continue to workout and stay focused on a healthy delivery for our little girl :) If you are ready to get healthy, to commit to a LIFESTYLE change, not a diet, or trend or fad...I want to help you reach your goals! There's something to be said about accountability. Reach out to my on Facebook and we can chat more. I would love to talk with you.
